| The Colella Family
Family hospitality is the essence of Hotel Poggio del Sole
owned by the Colella Family: Papa Salvatore, Mama Tina and their three sons Giuseppe, Amerigo and Lorenzo.
Ischia is in the heart and soul of this family who have lived on the island for generations. In fact the Hotel property was originally owned by Salvatore’s and Tina’s families long before they married. His family owned the land on the hill where the hotel is now situated, while her family owned the land below
where their family restuarant is now located. The section in the middle, they purchased together after they married, uniting both families land and creating the hotels property as it is today.
Each family member contributes in an unique way to the running
of the hotel. Papa Salvatore makes liqueuers, wine, olive oil
and preserves; Mama Tina’s delicious home cooked meals; Lorenzo’s famous woodfired pizza; Amerigo’s skillful maintenance and Giuseppe who assists with your every requirement while staying with the family. Nonna Assunta (Papa’s mother) can also be found in the restaurant overseeing the making of the pesto or helping Salvatore with his preserves.
Ringo and Lucky, the families pet dogs will also greet you with
a welcome bark and wag of the tail.
